During the Revolution, a part of the Mosellan deputies were pretty angered by the shape of their new and shiny department and protested with force at the National Assembly. Especially against the project of incorporating in the department the town of Metz, a French speaking city, from a French speaking area…
BECAUSE THEY WERE SCARED OF FRENCH BECOMING THE DOMINANT LANGUAGE IN THE...

15. You don’t have to love war, but which conflict...
The conflict I’m more interested in?
The Paris Commune.
Women vote. Separation of State and Church. Compulsory school. Justice reforms…. The Communards had so many wonderful ideas, and a good part of them ended up being applied. Except for the use of the Revolutionnary calendar, because let’s be honest, a 10 days week sucks. And their names suck as well.
And it just…...

I am back o/
I’ve never thought I could stress so much for an exam but it went better than I expected.
I don’t know if I made it, but at least it is done and I can return to a normal life. And watch Legend of Korra and France-Spain tonight (no chances means we have one!!!)

I’ll away between Wednesday and Saturday for my exams, and therefore will be unable to post in the between. I should be back on Sunday or Monday.
Thank you for your support and take care!
PS: Any of you have an idea of the difference between a French tomato and a Spanish tomato ? They asked that, once…

La liberté guidant le peuple - Delacroix.
I don’t know why I love it so much. Probably because it embodies something that we love, that we like to cherish, something we miss without missing it too much either. A past that we’ll never happen again.
Or maybe I just associate it with the old 100 francs bill (the Cézanne one never existed, ok?). And when I was young, owning one of this...

12. Favorite character from a history movie or TV...
I forgot to do the meme yesterday, but maybe it’s for the best? Because while I was chatting with a friend, the discussion ended on history TV shows and how said friend should watch Rome.
And indeed she should, because there’s Agrippa. He was one of my favourites in Latin class, and I was so into him in the show! Good friend, kick ass general, and a real cutie :D.
Otherwise...

The PS has the absolute majority in the National Assembly and is now controlling every level of the State
But the Empire Front National is back.
And I’m sure my deputy got elected thanks to a tractor (no kidding, someone used a tractor to promote her) (and here I thought I was in a urban area :’D)
Now let’s go back at drooling in front of the German football team.

11. Favorite history movie (not TV, not...
Two movies to rec :
The Wind That Shakes the Barley, by Ken Loach, a movie about the Irish independance and the Civil war that followed through the life of two brothers. I’m in no way a specialist about Ireland, but that movie really shaked me and I still enjoy rewatching it.
Not an history movie per se, but history is still the base of the plot : Les brigades du Tigre, a story...

WW2 influenced the political domain, by recomposing the international dynamics on many levels. The USA and the USSR became the dominant countries, through their leadership of the Allies and were able to spread their political ideology through the world. Western Europe tried to redefine itself and increased ties to avoid the birth of a new conflict, but questions arose with the political side of...

I have no… particular favourite time period? Maybe the 19th century?
In general, just give me war and blood and I’m happy.
